Favis of Salcombe is a family business catching the finest crab from the waters around Salcombe, Devon. Kevin decided to buy his first fishing boat in 1976, a 22ft Crabber called the “Boscastle Lass. As the business grew, so did the boat and today they serve many fantastic restaurants and hotels in the South West.
They catch ‘cancer pagurus’, commonly known as brown crab, which is a species found in the North Sea. It lives and breeds in highly nutritious and enriched water that makes it one of the best quality of crab in the world. It is a strong crab with a reddish-brown colour and oval shell.
Sustainability is of utmost importance to Kevin and the team which is why they only fish in sustainable waters ensuring the fish stocks can maintain themselves, preserving the quality of the product.
Within their range, you can enjoy whole crab, handpicked white and brown crabmeat, dressed crab and crab claws.
